new yankees' manager joe girardi casts a shaded eye over his pitchers on the first day of spring training. yes, it is only february, but it's not long until march and then it will be april and the baseball season will be back! will i go to fenway at any point, just to have been in such a storied ballpark? who knows, and at the moment it all seems so far away, as are the yanks in their training centre down in florida. qpr didn't play today, however, so my mind and my heart were able to turn briefly towards their summer concerns.
