Buon Compleanno Mamma!

Today Evelyn would have celebrated her 83rd birthday. It's hard to believe that it's already almost 4 years since she left us. I took this photo on her 70th birthday, when we went to a spa in North Wales for a few days. It reminds me that whilst the difficulties of our relationship remain in the past and fade, the work we did together to move forward remains foremost in my memory. I look at this image & feel blessed for what we were able to develop. Buon compleanno Mamma!

 

Happy Memories on Father's Day

Thanks to N, I have a new collection of slides and photos from our family life together. Although for us, as N likes to say, it is Dead Dads Day, I am enjoying looking through them and seeing pics of interactions I don't really remember. Glad for these happy memories!

From One Auntie to Another

Yesterday my beloved Auntie Dorrit z"l would have been 98 years old. She is still part of our lives through the friends we continue to share, the objects in our home that once were hers, and the example she gave of how to be an aunt. This is particularly poignant as I was recently given my first opportunity to be an aunt myself. I hope I will do her proud!
